How to Find Your Server IP Address in cPanel

Locate the shared or dedicated IP address of your hosting account in cPanel for DNS, email, and whitelisting needs.

You may need your server IP address to point a domain with an A record, whitelist the server for an external service, or troubleshoot connectivity. cPanel shows this in a few places.

Reading It From the Sidebar

  1. Log in to cPanel from my.nairohost.site or at yourdomain.com:2083.
  2. On the main cPanel page, look at the General Information panel in the right sidebar.
  3. The line labelled Shared IP Address shows your server IP.

This is the fastest method and works on every account.

Checking the Server Information Page

For more detail, open Server Information under the General Information panel. It lists the Shared IP Address along with the hostname and other server details.

Shared vs Dedicated IP

  • Shared IP: the default on shared hosting, used by many accounts on the same server. Fine for most sites.
  • Dedicated IP: an address used only by your account, sometimes needed for specific software or older mail setups. Available as an add-on.

Most websites and SSL certificates today work perfectly on a shared IP, so a dedicated IP is rarely required.

Using the IP for DNS

When you point a domain to your hosting with an A record, use this server IP:

| Record type | Host | Value | |-------------|------|-----------------| | A | @ | your server IP | | A | www | your server IP |

After updating DNS, allow time for it to propagate, often a few hours.
