NairoHost offers free website migration for new accounts, which means the technical team can move your files, databases, and email for you. This guide explains what to prepare and how the process works.
What You Need Before You Start
Have the following ready so the migration can be completed quickly:
- Login details for your current hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, or another panel).
- The domain name you are moving, and access to its registrar if a transfer is needed.
- A rough size of your account (number of databases, email accounts, and total disk usage).
How the Free Migration Works
- Sign up for a NairoHost plan that fits your current disk and bandwidth usage.
- Open a migration request via the /contact page or WhatsApp +254 796 358081 with your old hosting details.
- The team copies your files, MySQL databases, and email accounts to the new server.
- You receive a temporary preview URL or hosts-file instructions to test the site.
- Once you confirm everything works, you update your nameservers to point to NairoHost.
Pointing Your Domain
After testing, set your domain to use the NairoHost nameservers:
| Field | Value | |-------|-------| | Primary | ns1.nairohost.site | | Secondary | ns2.nairohost.site |
DNS changes can take a few hours to fully propagate, so keep your old account active until the new one is live.
Things to Confirm
- All pages load and forms submit correctly.
- Email sends and receives on the new server.
- SSL is active so the site loads over HTTPS.
Free migration covers standard cPanel and common control-panel setups. Very large sites or custom server stacks may need extra coordination, which the team will explain before starting.
