A domain is a yearly subscription, not a one-time purchase. If it expires, your website and email stop working and you risk losing the name. Renewing early is the safest habit.
How to Renew
- Sign in to your client area at my.nairohost.site.
- Open the Domains section and find the one nearing expiry.
- Click Renew and choose how many years to add.
- Pay with M-Pesa, card, or bank transfer.
- Confirm the new expiry date is updated on the domain.
When to Renew
- Renew at least two to four weeks before the expiry date.
- Do not wait for the final day, since payment or propagation delays can cause downtime.
- For important domains, renew for multiple years at once.
Avoid Missing the Deadline
- Enable auto-renewal so the domain renews automatically if a payment method is on file.
- Keep your contact email current so reminders reach you.
- Add the expiry date to your calendar as a backup.
If It Already Expired
If the date has passed, renewal is often still possible during a grace period, though a redemption fee may apply if it has entered the redemption stage. Act quickly, because the longer you wait, the higher the cost and the greater the risk of losing the name.
Check your domain's current expiry at any time using the WHOIS lookup tool on the NairoHost site, or contact support on WhatsApp at +254 796 358081.
