How to Reset Your cPanel Password

Change your cPanel account password securely from the client area or inside cPanel to keep your hosting protected.

Your cPanel password protects every file, database, and email account on your hosting. Change it if you suspect it has leaked, or rotate it periodically as good practice. There are two ways to do this.

Changing It From Inside cPanel

If you can still log in:

  1. Log in to cPanel and click your username in the top right corner.
  2. Choose Password and Security.
  3. Enter your old password, then a new one twice. Use the password generator for strength.
  4. Click Change your password now.

You stay logged in, but any saved FTP or email clients using the old password will need updating.

Resetting From the Client Area

If you cannot log in to cPanel, reset it from NairoHost:

  1. Log in to the client area at my.nairohost.site.
  2. Open the hosting service that holds the cPanel account.
  3. Look for the option to change or reset the cPanel password and set a new one.

This works even when the cPanel password itself is lost, because the client area controls the account.

Choosing a Strong Password

  • Use at least 12 characters mixing letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Avoid reusing a password from another service.
  • Store it in a password manager rather than a text file.

After Resetting

Update anything that connected with the old password:

  • FTP clients such as FileZilla.
  • Email clients on phones and computers.
  • Any deploy scripts or backup tools.

If you have lost access to both cPanel and the client area, contact support through the /contact page to verify your identity and regain access.
