An addon domain lets you host an additional website on your existing account with its own folder, email, and databases. Before adding one, make sure the domain is registered and pointed to our nameservers.
Before You Start
- Register the domain you want to add.
- Set its nameservers to ns1.nairohost.site and ns2.nairohost.site at your registrar.
- Allow time for the change to propagate, which can take a few hours.
Adding the Addon Domain
- Log in to cPanel.
- Open the Domains section and click Create A New Domain.
- Enter the domain name, for example
example.co.ke. - cPanel suggests a document root folder such as
example.co.ke. Leave it as the default unless you have a reason to change it. - Click Submit to create the addon domain.
Uploading Your Website
Once the addon domain is created, upload its files into the document root folder you chose. You can do this with the cPanel File Manager or an FTP client. Place your index.html or index.php at the top of that folder so the site loads.
Verifying It Works
- Visit the new domain in a browser once DNS has propagated.
- If you see the wrong site, confirm the document root and nameservers.
- If the domain does not resolve, the nameserver change may still be propagating.
If the addon domain option is greyed out, your plan has reached its domain limit. You can upgrade at my.nairohost.site or contact support through the /contact page for guidance.
