A single cPanel account can host more than one website, provided your plan allows addon domains. This is a cost-effective way to manage several projects from one dashboard.
How It Works
Each extra website is added as an addon domain. An addon domain has its own:
- Document root folder (a separate directory for its files).
- Domain name and DNS.
- Email accounts and databases.
Visitors see each site as completely independent, even though they share one account and its resources.
Steps to Add Another Website
- Confirm your plan supports the number of domains you need; check the Statistics panel in cPanel.
- Point the new domain to our nameservers, ns1.nairohost.site and ns2.nairohost.site.
- In cPanel, open Domains and add the domain as an addon domain.
- Upload that site's files into the folder cPanel created for it.
- Create a database and email accounts for the new site as needed.
Things to Keep in Mind
- All sites share the same disk space, bandwidth, inodes, and CPU. A busy site affects the others.
- Keep each site updated; a compromise on one can affect the whole account.
- For full isolation between clients, consider separate accounts instead.
When to Use Separate Accounts Instead
If the sites belong to different clients, need separate billing, or have heavy traffic, separate hosting accounts are safer and easier to manage. If you are unsure which approach fits, contact support on WhatsApp at +254 796 358081 and describe your projects.
